Since 1980, Sailboats Inc. Sailing School in Bayfield, Wisconsin has certified over 11,000 bareboat charter captains! We have sailing charter fleets on Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River, and through our affiliates, many more fleets worldwide.

What does bareboat charter yacht sailing instruction do for you? Simply put, completing sailing charter training allows you to charter (rent) a sailing yacht at any of the many bareboat fleets around the world. With your certificate, you can cruise without the expense of a paid captain and crew and sail where you wish.

Our learn to sail program speeds the beginning boater into the whole world of sailing charter cruising, with a carefully structured series of tightly organized drills and tasks. Our grads can be found in the prime charter destinations of the world--the Caribbean, the Med, the South Pacific, and even passage-making on their own boats.
